What day/time will the event begin?

  • The conference will take place on October 21-22, 2019 and each day will begin around 8:30am. The conference will conclude on Tuesday, October 22nd around 2:30pm.

How can I reserve my spot?

  • Availability for Connexion is first come, first serve. Please RSVP on the Paperless Post Invitation. Due to limited seating, we ask that you RSVP only if you plan to attend the entire event. If your RSVP changes, please email the Connexion team at [email protected], so we may accommodate those on our waiting list. Please note: Your RSVP is not final until travel reimbursement receipts have been submitted. If you intend to drive to our conference, please reach out to [email protected] to let us know about your plans.

When can I check in/check out of the hotel?

  • Because the conference begins early on October 21st, we will be providing hotel rooms for all attendees from Sunday, October 20th with checkout on Tuesday, October 22nd at 11am. You can check in to the hotel any time after 4pm on Sunday, October 20th. This will allow people a more relaxed travel schedule and the chance to rest before the event begins.
  • Check out will be Tuesday morning unless you are extending your stay for a personal visit, which will not be covered by Health Union.

Will I have a roommate staying in the hotel with me?

  • Each attendee will have his/her own hotel room, unless you prefer otherwise. If you and another invited advocate would like to share a hotel room, just let us know!

How can I book a room before/after the event so I can visit longer?

  • If you’d like to extend your visit beyond the two hotel nights we’re providing, please reach out to the team at [email protected] and we can work with the hotel to extend your stay.

Are the hotel rooms and the office handicap accessible? Will there be ADA compliant rooms available?

  • Yes, both the hotel and the conference space are handicap accessible. Please let us know if you will need an ADA compliant room so we have one reserved for you. Click here for more information on the hotel.

Do the hotel rooms have refrigerators?

  • The hotel does have the option of an in-room refrigerator for $25 per stay, which would not be covered by Health Union.

Do the hotel rooms have free WiFi?

  • Yes, there is free WiFi provided at the hotel for up to two devices. There will also be free WiFi available at the conference.

Is there parking at the hotel?

  • The Loews will offer a 10% discount for valet parking. The usual parking rate is $49/day and can be submitted as part of your $450 total reimbursement after the conference. There are parking garages and lots available as well: http://www.philapark.org/locator/.

Is there a shuttle to the airport?

  • No. The Loews does not offer an airport shuttle. However, there are taxis, uber, lyft, and a train available to and from the Philadelphia airport.

Will there be breaks throughout the event?

  • Yes yes yes! While we want this event to be informative and helpful, we also want it to be an enjoyable opportunity to meet people and chat on your own time. Our schedule will have a variety of workshops/talks, ice breakers, networking time, and many breaks. If you need time to yourself to rest or relax, you are always welcome to step out and take a break.

Can I wear a hat or sunglasses during the event?

  • Of course! You can wear whatever makes you comfortable!

Will there be a variety of food options?

  • We will make every effort to address dietary restrictions and requests, with options including, but not limited to, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free, low-sodium, low-fiber, and more. We will be providing the menu in advance of the event, and will ensure the ingredient lists are available for all items.

Will you cover additional travel expenses during the event?

  • We will cover travel expenses up to $450. If there are expenses that are not listed here, please feel free to reach out to the team at [email protected].
